Objects of Memory

After the death of my father, my childhood home had to be emptied and sold, this brought about the question of what things to keep and what to say goodbye to.

This project looks at the idea of personal possessions and what they mean to us. Throughout our lives we gather together possessions, we hold on to these objects and feel a personal connection to them. When looking at these possessions (whether they are objects or photographs) we are reminded about past times, the people pictured or the person that gave us the thing. This sentimental value connected to objects and the memories they hold gives an insight into what is most important to each individual.
