The good, The bad, and The vivid

The world sometimes overwhelms us all. Yet, often, for the highly sensitive person, noises crash, people hustle past, lights blind, smells sear; all can becomes an onslaught.

But sensitivity also opens the senses to little things, sunlight dapples through leaves, flower petals shimmer with colour and raindrops ripple through puddles.

Being a highly sensitive person sets you apart as your nervous system is slightly different from others. Imagine a radio: people may be able to tune into fifteen stations, a highly sensitive person can hear hundreds of overlapping stations and interferences.

About 20% of the population could be classed as highly sensitive of which the photographer is one. The work expresses the challenges and joys of balancing the abundance of sensory experiences.
